Privacy Policy

omandus ("omandus", "we", "us") is an AI travel companion that recognizes landmarks from photos, generates narrated voice tours, and hosts a community feed. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using the omandus app or website you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account data — your email address, display name, a securely hashed password, and, if you sign in with Facebook, your Facebook account ID and the name/email/avatar you authorize.

Content you create — photos you capture or upload, posts, comments, trip budgets, travel highlights, and direct messages. Photos and posts you publish are visible to other users.

Camera & photo library — the camera is used to recognize the landmark in front of you; the photo library is used when you choose to upload an image. We only receive images you actually capture or select — we do not access your camera or library in the background.

Approximate location — a coarse city/region derived from your IP address (we do not collect GPS location).

Device & usage data — push-notification tokens (if you enable notifications), and standard log data (IP, device/browser type, timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

To provide and improve the service: recognize landmarks, generate voice tours and text, publish and rank your posts, deliver likes/comments/follows/messages and notifications, secure accounts, and prevent abuse.

AI processing

To recognize a landmark and generate tour narration, the relevant photo and text are sent to our AI processors Google (Gemini) and DeepSeek for processing. AI-generated descriptions may contain inaccuracies and are for general information only.

Service providers (sub-processors)

We share data only with providers who process it on our behalf: Vercel (hosting & image storage), Neon (database), Google Gemini and DeepSeek (AI), Resend (transactional email), and Meta (only if you use Facebook Login). We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

Content moderation

To keep the community safe, submitted text and images are screened (keyword rules and an AI image classifier). You can report or block other users, and we remove violating content and offending accounts.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated content at any time in Settings → Delete account, or by emailing support@omandus.com. Deletion removes your profile, posts, photos, comments and messages.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

omandus is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security & international transfer

Passwords are hashed and data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, with appropriate safeguards.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
